Carpe Diem

Nothing remains when you die.
There's no such thing as a soul.
At death, energy simply disperses,
Back into that which is all.

Any other view is an extension of ego.
We are not immortal. I have no wish to be.
Our matter returns to the vastness we came from.
Why is that so hard to believe?

Nothing is watching over us,
Laying judgment, directing traffic.
It doesn't really matter what you've done,
Or how many times you think you've been here.

There is no heaven. There is no hell.
No afterlife awaits us.
We are not born again.
There are no second chances.

Any other view is wishful thinking;
Born out of fear that we don't make a difference;
Or out of hope for cosmic justice;
Or in search of life's greater purpose.

Einstein to Hitler, we end up the same.
Dead is dead.
End of game.

Blink of an eye
We're saying goodbye.
So, embrace your brief collection of moments.

Seize today  ;  }!
